About Us

ReForest Food Forests is a proprietary limited company, which brings together practical ecologists, permaculturists, educators and community driven individuals in order to promote the food forest field in the private and public sectors.

ReForest Food Forests is an Ltd. Company

which brings together practical ecologists, permaculturists, educators and community driven individuals in order to promote the food forest field in the private and public sectors.

Most of us met through shared activity in the national forum for food forests, where we were all searching for a way to create positive influence as professionals and activists.

During 2019, as a natural continuation of our volunteer activity in the forum, we got together and founded ReForest Food Forests – a company dedicated to the landscaping, creation and maintenance of food forests. In January 2020 we set off with a bang – straight into the arms of Covid.

Despite the difficulties it posed, the Covid period actually enhanced and clarified just how important for us humans is the connection to nature and the great outdoors. Today, awareness of the beneficent nature of food forests is greater than ever, and growing.

In an age of climate crisis, we perceive raising awareness to this important topic an inseparable part of our work, and we are thankful to work and partake in something that is so significant to us.

Our Vision

In our vision, we see a world in which ecology, food cultivation, and human environment intertwine harmoniously. We believe that in an age in which strict nature reserve areas are decreasing, we have to find smart solutions that provide a response to humanity’s needs and are beneficial to the environment.

Our Mission

We at ReForest operate in a holistic and beneficent approach when landscaping and developing strict nature reserves. The approach combines ecological rehabilitation, food cultivation, and landscaping, and constitutes as part of the required solutions framework in an age of environmental, economic and social crisis.

We aspire to live in a world in which ecology, food cultivation, and human environment intertwine harmoniously.

We believe that in an age in which strict nature reserve areas are decreasing, we have to find smart solutions that provide a response to humanity’s needs and are beneficial to the environment.

We are in the midst of a growing environmental crisis. Pollution is rising, natural resources are dwindling, climate is changing rapidly and extreme weather events are increasing.

Due to the current state, there is a growing need to examine new approaches for the connection between humans and their environment. We need to reexamine our way of utilizing resources for man’s nourishment and physical and mental wellbeing. During the last few years there has been an awakening of alternative landscaping approaches which place emphasis on sustainability. One of them is the food forest.

The concept of the ‘food forest’ is part of the permaculture world – a holistic landscaping approach inspired by patterns which exist in mature ecological systems, and its objective is to benefit life in all its forms.

We operate using this approach in the landscaping and development of strict nature reserves. The approach combines ecological rehabilitation, food cultivation, and landscaping, and constitutes as part of the required solutions framework in an age of environmental, economic and social crisis.
